Getting around the park

Entering the park

To enter the park you need a Passeport (ticket). Hotel guests get it at check in. If you didn't order it in advance you have to wait in line to buy it. With this card you can go through the turnstiles. Passeports that are not part of a length of stay arrangements, are valid forever. A three-day tickey does not have to be used three days in a row.

Hotel guests can get early entry. Have your hotel ID ready to pass the line of people waiting in front of the gate. Use the turnstiles on the right of the Disneyland Hotel to enter the park early. This doesn't mean the attraction will be operating before opening hours, but it does give you a head start on the flock.

If you want to leave the park, and come back the same day, have your hand stamped at the exit right of the Disneyland hotel (this time seen from the inside!). It is invisible ink they use (no really!).

Orientation within the park

Go directly to City Hall and get your copy of the Guest Guide (and if you have a handicap the Guest Special Services Guide) and the activities schedule. In the guest guide you'll also find a map of the grounds.

Orientation within attractions

An exit is a place that is guarded or has a sign "Sortie uniquement". This rule follows, that if you can walk somewhere it is allowed; if tons of people leave one waiting line free because they follow the person in front of them, don't follow their example. I have run into "Star Tours", "It's a small world" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" at busy times! If you are travelling alone you often can be asked to join another party in an attraction even if you have to pass an entire waiting line to do so. Watch the cast members closely if they look around saying "Un personne" or "Deux Personnes" and they help you pass the line at "Pirouettes du Vieux Moulin" and "Indiana Jones". Most of the attractions are for two persons per car/boat etc.

Capacity of the attractions

Do not be fooled by seemingly long queues. If there is a significant waiting time a sign will indicate so. Attractions like "Le Carrousel de Lancelot", "Dumbo" and "Orbitron" have small capacities. Visionarium, CinéMagique, Pirates of the Caribbean and Phantom manor have almost unlimited capacity. The waiting areas are always filled with nice props to watch on your way, and most queues are always on the move.
