Disney-code

Within the walls of the Magic Kingdom, sometimes the rules are different from the laws of the land. Disney management states: "Disneyland is a world in itself, a fantasy world. You can find all sorts of different cultures in the mix, but seen through the eyes of an American genius" [My translation, not original quote].

Minimum wage is 6.500 francs, for 39 hours per week with 11 holidays and 5 weeks of vakantie (not in August). Vacations of cast members may not prevent the opening hours of the park all year round.

Each cast member must

wear a costume with nametag

refrain from smoking, eating, drinking or sitting in front of guests

wear no eyeshadow, eyeliner or fake eyelashes

wear one ring per hand, one earring (maximum of 2 cm diameter) per ear

wear suitable underwear under skirts

(males) have short hear, behind the ears

keep their weight

wear no tatoos

wear no jeans or skirts shorter than 12 cm above the knee

have no nails longer than 7 mm, no high heels over 1 cm

have no facial hair

In 1999 I spoke to a Castmember (not one of the lowest ranks), who said in his experience Disney didn't rule with an iron fist, when it came to your appearance.

Adult guests pay 225 FF. Only for the shows in Festival Disney (Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, 300 FF) and the shooting galery (10 FF) are not included in the attraction price. You can't bring food into the park, but a picknick area is located just outside the park. You can't smoke inside the attractions or in the waiting area, and must wear shoes and shirt at all times. High heels are out of the question (but who wants to wear heels when walking all day?) and animals have to be sheltered (45 FF), except for guidance dogs. Bagage claim is 15 FF, but it is free at the Disney hotels (I have never been asked to show my hotel ID, so everyone could make advantage of this). You can pay with credit card or French Francs. You can exchange money at the entrance, at the information points in Main Street Station, Frontierland depot, Adventureland and Fantasyland.
