Attractions

The attractions are divided into 4 countries and the Main Street shopping street. If you walk along Main Street you arrive at the gates of those worlds. The castle is the entrance to Fantasyland, Fort Comstock for Frontierland and Adventure Bazar for Adventureland. The details on the attractions were made bij the decorating department of the Dutch National Broadcasting Company in Hilversum (NOB)

Then there is the shopping center: Disney Village.

Disney Village (previously Festival Disney)

You can enter Festival Disney without buying a ticket. There are shops and restaurants and you can buy tickets for the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. There's an 8 screen Gaumont cinema (soon to be expanded) and a Planet Hollywood restaurant. One of the restaurants, Annette's diner, is named after Mouseketeer Annette Funicello, who became famous with beachmovies with Frankie Avalon. In the evenings (after park closure) the staff of Annette's tend to jump on the tables and sing "Greased Lightning" from the movie Grease/1978 (I only once saw them do YMCA by the Village People), in which Frankie Avalon also can be seen. They serve an excellent burger. The specialities of Key West Seafood, The Steakhouse and the Los Angeles Bar & Grill speak for themselves. There are three dance clubs; at Billy Bob's you get live-performances of Country music, at Hurricane's it is pop music and at Rock 'n Roll's it's rock. Since 1999 Disney Village has a McDonald's restaurant and a Rainforest Cafe. It's good to know that McDonald's serves the cheapest soda on the property (if you don't count the Esso service station behind Hotel Santa Fe).

Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show

Based on the real show of 1889, this is a dinner show with shows at 18:30 and 21:30, for 300 FF (adults) and 200 FF children. A 10% discount applies if you pay with American Express, the sponsor). When you enter you are assigned a table number and colour. You can be part of the Ranches: The Golden Star of Texas, The Blue Moon of Wyoming, The Green Mountain of Montana, or the Red River of Colorado. Price includes a cowboyhat with colored ribbon and enough beer or cola as you want. Included dinner: bread, cakes, Chili Con Carne (use the spoon!), Barbecue Chicken, smoked ribs, corn on a cob, baked potatoes, sausages and for dessert hot appelpie in vanilla ice and coffee. Vegetarian meals are available upon request. While you are eating you watch a rodeo stunt show. It may not be cheap, but both food and show are great and I often skip lunch before I have my dinner here. The part of Buffalo Bill has been played since 1992 by Peter MacLean and since 1994 Leslie Rains plays Annie Oakley. Choreography is by Jean-Luc Choplin, music by George Fenton, directed by Robert Carsen, dialogue by Ian Burton, and Andrew Bridge came up with the special effects.

Maison de Tourisme

If you want to see other sites in Paris or the Ile de France region, Disney Village has a bureau of tourist information, where you can find guided tours and leaflets of all the museums. For opening hours and questions like: "What museum of natural history can you recommend?" this is the place to be.

Special events

Christmas time is always a special time. It starts in November and the park will be in lights, have special parades, the chance of skating at Hotel New York etc. Santa Clause brings real reindeer.

On busy days you can expect live entertainment. Throughout the park are Kodak Photo Points that indicate nice snapshots to be taken. If you have your picture taken in the park you don't have to buy it, if you have your picture taken at the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show it's 100 FF.

You can find photo opportunities when you enter the water at Big Thunder Mountain and inside Space Mountain (both pictures are available when you come out of the attraction at 49 FF).
